It’s here. The day when Georgia Bulldog football recruits sign on the dotted line and celebrate their commitment to help Kirby Smart and crew bring a title to the Classic City.
Georgia enters the day with most of the heavy lifting already accomplished, and several of the most prominent recruits from this class already in Athens preparing for the 2017 season. But there remain a few loose ends to be tied.
Five star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon is set to announce from among Georgia, Alabama, and Michigan at 10:00 a.m. No one really knows how that one is going to turn out. Alabama analysts have shown waning enthusiasm for their prospects of landing the Lee County stand out. Michigan fans have also become increasingly pessimistic. But Georgia analysts and fans haven't shown a corresponding uptick in confidence. We’re just going to have to wait to see what happens.
Bulldog fans will also be looking to see if Grayson athlete Jamyest Williams sticks with his South Carolina pledge or decides to return to his hometown to play at the University of Georgia. Williams will announce his decision between 2:15 and 2:30.
Florida corner Latavious Brini decommitted from the 'Dawgs, but looks like he could recommit if there's room in the class.
Crisp County standout Markaviest Bryant will choose from among Auburn, Georgia, and LSU in an 11:15 ceremony in Cordele.
And a few other uncommitted prospects remain who could move the needle in this class including Alabama wide receiver Nico Collins, Mississippi JUCO defensive tackle Latrell Murchison, Jacksonville defensive back Ameer Speed, and Florida lineman TD Slaton.
And we will be here all day, win, lose, or hold onto the letter until sometime in April. Kick back, relax, and find a spreadsheet you can pull up when the boss walks by. It’s time to bring home the savages.
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
