The College Football Playoff selection committee will be announcing the results of its final deliberations momentarily. There is briad consensus that the Georgia Bulldogs will be playing in either the Sugar Bowl or Rose Bowl semifinal games, but their opponent is yet to be determined.
The Oklahoma Sooners and Clemson Tigers are also likely in the mix. But the committee has to now choose between a two loss Ohio State team that won the Big Ten or a one loss Alabama with which they were enamored for much of the process, but which didn’t even play for its conference title. Somebody who’s accustomed to being in the running for the national championship is getting left out. The selection show itself begins at noon on ESPN, but heaven only knows when they’ll get around to the final four. But when they do, we’ll be here.
