Maestro, the music:
Lots of news out there this morning regarding your SEC Champion Georgia Bulldogs:
Jake Fromm is getting plenty of praise for his performance and 100% deserves it. If I’d told you in August that Jake Fromm would start and lead Georgia to an SEC Championship Game victory in December you would have rightly thought I was nuts.
Kirby gettin’ paid, y’all. I expect that we’ll also be hearing about a contract extension in the coming weeks. Kirby was probably in line for a bump up headed into this week, but the recent coaching silly season has really reset the expectations for coaching compensation.
Isaac Nauta has some thoughts for Gus Malzahn.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office remains savage.
Obviously it’s too early to know for certain, but I anticipate Roquan Smith going pro after this season and he may be basically irreplaceable. Get it, man.
Speaking of guys who’ll be hard to replace, Sony Michel is scheduled for an MRI on the knee he irritated in the second half yesterday but his status is unknown beyond that. The fact that an MRI is necessary by itself does not give me a cuddly feeling.
We’ll soon find out who Georgia will get in the college football playoff. Georgia, Clemson, and Oklahoma appear to be in but the debate between Alabama and Ohio State for the final spot remains heated. My personal view? I think Alabama is the better football team, but that the committee’s stated proclivity for conference winners will favor the Buckeyes in the end. Until later....
