Wednesday Morning Dawg Bites

Could Christmas come a few days early for Dawg Nation? Today, in a word, is big.

Good morning, you rascals. Today is the first ever “early signing period,” and by the time the dust settles across our great nation, some schools are going to improve their rosters in a big way. Sam Pittman and Company (A Kirby Smart Industry) are rockin’ the business. And right now, business is good. Maestro, if you please:

Turn it up.

First things first: We Run This State. In Football. In Women’s Basketball. And last night, Mark Fox’s squad blew out Tech in Stegeman Coliseum. I watched the game and am still dismayed at turnovers and, and at times, poor shot selection. But we had a dreamy 2nd half shooting the ball and Yante Maten is such a great player that I think he should be allowed 6 fouls/game.

Jamaree Salyer, Cade Mays, and Brenton Cox are going to make it official a bit later on. All these dudes are 5-star recruits and we might just get all three letters faxed in to Butts-Mehre later today. Macondawg has his odds for today’s big day here.

If you’re looking for times later on, again Macondawg has the complete list of who signs and when.

This is a good look:

Don’t worry about the SI Jinx. Every playoff team is represented by their own version of the magazine cover. This one just happens to be the best.

Most of the Georgia-centric pay$ites and podcasts are hinting at a big surprise sometime tomorrow. I have no earthly idea who this could be (Micah Parsons seems to be a name often mentioned), but there’s too much chatter out there to not take this seriously. Should be fun.

Speaking of Mr. Parsons, this little gem I found over at The Senator’s site just warmed my heart.

In other news, DiAngelo Gibbs is away from the team at this moment for a medical issue. This is a very broad term and caution needs to be applied here. Before anyone starts assuming something sinister, just remember: This kid is one of ours, whatever his condition is, it’s none of our business and we wish him the best and hope that he can return healthier than ever.

Chip Towers has a nice piece on OL commit Owen Condon who happens to live just up the road from Norman, Oklahoma. This kid has the frame. Can’t wait to see how Sam Pittman turns him into a blocking machine.

Buckle up, folks. It’s gonna be a crazy day. As Always, GO DAWGS!
