Georgia looks to bounce back from a disappointing loss Tuesday night when they face Georgia Tech at Stegeman Coliseum.
The Bulldogs emerged from an 11-day layoff for exams and the results weren’t pretty in a 72-62 loss to UMass. The Minutemen jumped out to an early lead and Georgia eventually fell behind by as many as 22 points. Mark Fox wasn’t pleased with his team’s defensive focus as they allowed UMass to shoot 50 percent from the field and 55 percent from three-point range.
The Bulldogs will look to put that performance behind then against a Yellow Jackets team that has battled injury problems throughout the non-conference schedule.
Tech is 5-4 on the season with losses to UCLA, Grambling, Tennessee and Wofford. They snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday with a 79-54 win over Florida A&M which also marked the season debut of Josh Okogie.
Okogie suffered an open dislocation of his left index finger in the team’s exhibition game against Georgia State back on October 28. He developed an infection in that same finger which complicated things further. Okogie finally debuted Sunday and led the way with 19 points.
Georgia has won two straight over Georgia Tech and are 53-30 all-time in Athens. Tip off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on ESPN2.
