Around the SEC

NCAA Football: South Carolina at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The Dawgs have clinched the SEC East, but there is plenty of work yet to be done. Let’s roundup the happnin’s around the league.

Here is what’s happening around the SEC:

  • Tennessee has lost five-star commit Cade Mays. Mays had been the crown jewel in Tennessee’s 2018 class, but now he has decommitted following his trip to Athens last weekend.
  • Alabama has lost linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton for the season after surgery and linebacker Mack Wilson for 4-6 weeks with an injury. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick looks to return to practice on Tuesday on a limited basis following his own injury.
  • Names are being vetted and leaders are emerging from the pack in the coaching searches at Florida and Ole Miss. Check them out here.
  • Congrats to Tennessee, who are once again the Champions of Life! After South Carolina’s loss to Georgia, Tennessee retains the belt. For rules on the Champions of Life, check out this SB nation article.

Until next time… GO DAWGS!!!
