MVDs: Most Valuable ‘Dawgs

It’s time to once again recognize the best and brightest from Saturday’s Georgia Bulldog football game. Ladies and gentlemen, your MVDs.

Offense-Jake Fromm. The freshman quarterback made the Gamecock defense pay again and again for stacking the box to stop the run. 16 of 22 passing with no turnovers is the type of stat line I’d take in a game like this from a senior, let alone a freshman.

Defense-Reggie Carter. While Georgia gave up three 15 yard plus passes on third downs Saturday, the run defense remains solid. The Bulldogs surrendered only 43 yards on the ground due in large part to great tackling and recognition from the linebackers.

One guy who had himself a ball game was senior Reggie Carter, whose 7 tackles tied for the team lead. He also carded half a sack and a tackle for a loss. It was a great effort from a guy who’ll also need to come up big next week in Auburn.

Special teams-Cameron Nizialek. Nobody beats the Niz. The grad transfer punted 3 times for a 47 yard per kick average and again didn’t have a single kick returned, including one downed on about the half inch line (slight exaggeration, but I digress). You can’t get much better than that.

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
