Night shift open thread: What’s the worst that could happen?

On this Saturday night, the things that go bump in the night include several top 25 teams looking to avoid upsets. Alabama takes on Texas A&M with Kevin Sumlin’s squad looking for what would be a signature upset (ESPN). Jim Harbaugh’s #7 Michigan Wolverines host in-state rival Michigan State, which habitually bedevils higher ranked Wolverine squads (ABC).

#11 Washington State travels to Oregon in what feels like a prime let down opportunity (FOX). #16 Virginia Tech travels to Boston College (ESPN2).

For you really late shifters, there's the 10:15 start of Stanford at #20 Utah, and #6 Washington taking on Cal in what east coast viewers might as well term #PAC12JustBeforeDawn (ESPN).

I refuse to believe that at least one upset will not come out of this series of games in which favored opponents take on teams they should handle. It is going to happen, it's just a matter of where, when and how spectacularly. I'm glad you can be here with us to enjoy it.

And as if that weren't enough to keep you busy, four-star shooting guard Landers Nolley out of Fairburn’s Langston Hughes High will be announcing his college choice at 8:00 between Georgia and Virginia Tech.
