NCAA Football: Clemson at Louisville Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Maestro, the theme music:

#17 Louisville travels to Raleigh this evening to take on #24 NC State in what you never would have believed me five years ago could actually be a really good football game.

Bobby Petrino is now the longest tenured and least scandal-plagued senior athletic official* at Louisville, which should petrify you in and of itself. The fact that he's leaving town means any number of shenanigans could go down in his absence. I’m picturing Papa John doing doughnuts in his sweet Firebird at midfield.

His Cardinals will be taking on Dave Doeren’s 4-1 Wolfpack, who look to remain tied with Clemson atop the ACC Atlantic Division. No, I can't really explain it either. But I looked it up. There they are. Your nationally ranked University of North Carolina at Raleigh Wolfpack.

So pull up a chair, mix a commodore, and enjoy some moderately competitive ACC football action!

* I’m fairly certain this isn’t true. But like Rick Pitino I would feign shock and dismay if presented with contrary facts.
