Bulldog commit Richard LeCounte helps opponent in need.

Scholar. Athlete. Philanthropist. Savage.
Bud Elliott, SB Nation Recruiting

Liberty County standout and Bulldog commit Richard LeCounte, Jr. is many things. A tremendous athlete. An ace recruiter. A capoeira enthusiast*.

Now LeCounte can add “humanitarian” to his growing resume. During practices for the upcoming Army All-American game LeCounte was matched up one-on-one with Amite, Louisiana standout (and former UGA verbal commit) Devonta Smith. Smith was obviously tired from giving it his all in practice. LeCounte urged him to rest, that no one would think less of him for going to the bench for a short break. But Smith would have none of it.

So LeCounte took matters into his own hands.

Saintly.

This, by the way, would be what the kids call being a “savage.” Obviously this particular maneuver might be frowned upon by officious gentlemen in a non-practice setting. But it is definitely what that great sage Sheriff Buford T. Justice would call “an attention getter.”

By the way, if Smith signs with Alabama as many predict, this may not be the last time we see this matchup. Until later...

Go ‘Dawgs!!!!

*I actually have no idea whether he is a capoeira enthusiast, but really how could he not be?
