Make It A Double: Tray Bishop Second Safety Commit On The Day For Georgia

NCAA Football: Auburn at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Georgia had a great day recruiting when Grayson four star prospect Deangelo Gibbs committed to the ‘Dawgs this afternoon. The day just got better.

As had been expected for some time, Terrell County athlete Tray Bishop has switched his commitment from Auburn to Georgia. Bishop is currently with a host of other UGA commits and targets at the Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. This fall he’ll join a class of elite prospects who could become the core of Kirby Smart’s Georgia team for years to come sooner rather than later.

Bishop’s athleticism is off the charts, he has prototypical safety size, and he continues what has been an unbelievable run for Smart and Co. According to 247Sports’ rankings Georgia has 22 commitments, and 19 of them are rated four stars or higher. The rest of the SEC East has a combined 20 four/five star prospects. Obviously the staff has to coach them up. But consistently bringing in that kind of blue chip haul has been shown to be a necessary, if not entirely sufficient, part of fielding a national title contender.

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
