It appears doubtful Georgia Bulldogs running back Sony Michel will play in week 2 against Nicholls.
Kirby Smart said on his Thursday night radio show that Michel is “still waiting to be cleared,” as reported by Gridiron Now.
Michel suited up against UNC but didn’t see the field. He’s been practicing in a non-contact jersey for the last three weeks after breaking his left forearm in an ATV accident the weekend of July 4.
Smart has said the targeted return date for Michel is week 3, so it’s possible he’ll see action against Missouri.
However, with Michel likely out and a relative lightweight lining up against the ‘Dawgs Saturday, there’s a good chance we could get our first look at freshman running back Elijah Holyfield.
