Thursday Night Open Thread: I’m Just Here To Ask Tom Herman About Baton Rouge Again.

Tonight’s slate of college football action is, admittedly, not the most compelling. Hampton takes on North Carolina A&T on ESPNU at 7:30. Kansas travels to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech and try to snap an epic 39 game road losing streak that extends back to September 12, 2009.

But the big matchup of the night features UConn traveling to Houston to take on the #8 ranked Houston Cougars and Tom Herman, a man who once again finds himself at the center of a college football coaching search. Oddsmakers have largely zeroed in on Herman and FSU coach Jimbo Fisher as likely successors to the recently dismissed Les Miles at LSU. It’s sort of surprising when you consider that Herman just took his name out of the hat for some big jobs a few months ago. But hey, it never hurts to at least interview the guy, right?

I’m also told that there’s some sort of pro football game this evening, which you may certainly talk about in this space if that’s your thing. Until later . . .

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
