One more day, folks. It’s really here isn’t it?
By now you have heard that Georgia received a commitment from a kid at a position of need when D’Andre Swift pledged to the Dawgs in a not-so-subtle fashion on Thursday. I realize MaconDawg covered this in detail already, but I’m so excited...I just can’t hide it. Georgia is (probably) done at tailback for the 2017 cycle. 247Sports.com feels like Swift is the nation’s most complete back. This really is big news.
Welcome to the family bro . @DAndreSwift #DawgNation

We are a week away from our home opener. There have been some changes made at Sanford Stadium. The more you know...
This guy tells us why Georgia is overrated this year. There are some valid points here...but he’s glossing over Nick Chubb a bit too much. FWIW, I have no idea if we are overrated or underrated. Neither does he. He feels our imminent demise is due to our defensive front. Have at it in the comments.
Kirby Smart’s comments about the decision to start Greyson Lambert is not particularly ground-shaking or popular with a good chunk of the fan base (ahhh...more division.) I wonder if a different decision would have been made if we were starting off at home with a cup cake. Eason will get meaningful reps tomorrow evening. What interests this writer the most is seeing how well Lambert adjusts to the new scheme from a new coordinator. Get behind him, folks. No booing.
About last night. Did Tennessee underestimate their opponent as they were incredibly lucky struggled to a 20-13 overtime win over Appalachian State? The thing that stood out to me the most were this: Pressure Josh Dobbs at all and force him to throw (especially on the run) and good things happen for your defense. Just don’t lose contain. Going forward, defenses are going to sell-out against Tennessee’s run. The Vols offensive line, and in particular their center, struggled for most of the night. The kids from Boone, NC played their collective hearts out, but just got worn down by depth. And got their heart broken by some very, very lucky Volunteer breaks. Hey, it’s all part of the game.
That’s all for now, but I’ll have about 15 Thoughts in roughly 48 hours...
Enjoy your day and GO DAWGS!
