Once again we’re spotlighting some of the best photography from this weekend’s Georgia Bulldog football contest. While it was one bad game, this one did serve up some great, memorable images.
Linebacker Natrez Patrick runs through the Georgia banner on the field before the game. Things would shortly get kind of weird.
Nick Chubb is congratulated by teammates after scoring a first quarter touchdown. Then, things got weird.
Terry Godwin goes up and snatches the ball for a first quarter reception, one of three for the sophomore on the day.
Neither rain nor sleet nor sliding Greg Pyke will delay Nick Chubb from his appointed routes.
Remember that bit about things getting weird? It doesn't get any weirder than Nick Chubb coughing up the football, as he did on this second quarter pass.
C. J. Okpalobi carries the ball against the UGA defense. Despite getting 21 carries Okpalobi notched only 55 yards on the day.
Isaiah McKenzie returns a punt which he did not drop. Brandon Kublanow practically dares a Nicholls State defender to get up.
Cornerback Aaron Davis comes on a blindside blitz, causing Nicholls State QB Devin Powell to fumble.
Lorenzo Carter crosses the goal line after picking up that Powell fumble to put the ‘Dawgs up 26-14, restoring a semblance of order to things. Until, you guessed it, things got weird again.
Colonels wide receiver C. J. Bates catches a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter over UGA cornerback Malkom Parrish. Which is weird, given that Coach Smart was screaming from the sideline before the play began that the ball was going to Bates.
After holding on for the victory, Kirby Smart leaves the field while trying to decide whether to burn his visor, shirt, or play sheet first. Go ‘Dawgs!
