Georgia Bulldogs OG Greg Pyke Makes Piesman Trophy Watch List

Award honors lineman doing non lineman things.

NCAA Football: Tennessee at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The time has come for year two of SB Nation’s own Piesman Trophy, which honors “the best play in which a lineman throws, catches, or runs with the ball, because those are things linemen don't usually do.”

And as such, like every other award a preseason watch list has been released, which includes Georgia Bulldogs senior offensive guard Greg Pyke.

To give you an idea of what Pyke might have to do in order to win the trophy, check out the winning play from last year:

That’ll be tough to top.

Pyke stands 6-6, 325 pounds and was a second team All-American in 2015. However, he has lots of SEC competition, including Florida’s CeCe Jefferson, Texas A&M’s Daylon Mack and Tennessee’s Jack Jones among others. But Pyke may have a slight edge in that former Georgia lineman Watts Dantzler is an official voter.

In any case: #PykeforPiesman
