Georgia raids Sunshine State for four star cornerback

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Red and Black's 2017 recruiting class has a decided home state feel, with ten of the first eleven pledges coming from the Peach State.

But make no mistake, Kirby Smart and his staff have been working all over the place. Yesterday some of that hard work paid off when four star cornerback Latravious Brini out of MaterAcademy in Hialeah, Florida committed to the 'Dawgs. The 6'2, 185 pound standout counted offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida, Auburn, FSU, Miami, LSU, Southern Cal, and Notre Dame prior to his commitment. That's not surprising for a guy 247Sports ranks as the #31 cornerback in the country and the #42 player in the state of Florida.

Brini has good size, the kind that Smart has tended to prefer in his corners, who often are required to play one-on-one on the edge. He's a physical player who's willing to come up and tackle in the run game but also turns and runs well in coverage. You can see a little more of what Georgia's getting in Brini's junior highlights below:

Until later . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!
