Georgia takes on South Carolina on ESPN2

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Georgia travels to Columbia, South Carolina tonight to take on the Gamecocks (23-6, 10-6 SEC)  in a 7:00 p.m. start on ESPN2. While the Bulldogs' tournament hopes are all but dashed (anybody know what the weather forecast for the SEC tournament is yet?), there's still a good bit to play for in the final road contest of the season.

For starters there's a possible NIT bid on the line. Also, there's a little program history to be made. Georgia sits at 15-12 overall and 8-8 in the SEC as they prepare for tonight's matchup at Colonial Life Arena. One more conference win would assure the 'Dawgs of their fourth straight .500 or better finish in SEC play. When's the last time that happened? Never. It's never happened, in 84 years of SEC basketball. And that's your stat of the night for friends who say that Georgia basketball hasn't progressed under Mark Fox.

Let's beat those 'Cocks!
