The Georgia Bulldogs got Signing Day off to a rousing start a moment ago with the commitment of Elbert County speedster Mecole Hardman.
Hardman, rated the #1 all-purpose athlete in the nation by 247Sports, could play either wide receiver or cornerback in Athens, and will almost certainly be a factor in the kick return game in 2016. With iMac in the shop at times during 2015, Hardman provides a nice additional option on special teams at a minimum and likely works his way onto the field on offense or defense as a true freshman. It's no exaggeration to say that Hardman will likely be one of the 5-7 fastest players in the SEC as soon as he steps on campus, and his value will only increase as he develops physically and in his mental approach to the game.
There really are no "can't miss" recruits, but Hardman is the kind of player who looks ticketed to make an early impact in the Classic City. Want to see why for yourself? Take a look at these highlights from just one game of his impressive senior season:
Or these highlights from his junior season:
Hardman may be the most singularly talented player left on Georgia's board this morning, and having him onboard is a big win for Coach Smart given that Hardman was seriously considering Alabama and really could have followed Jeremy Pruitt to Tuscaloosa. The day's off to a great start. Now let's keep the momentum rolling. Welcome aboard Mecole!
