Bulldogs look to avenge loss to Florida, climb onto the tournament bubble

Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

If you're here to hate Florida, you came to the right place.

Mark Fox's team finds themselves on a bit of a run, winners of three of their last four coming into tonight's showdown with Florida. Georgia opened SEC play with a loss in Gainesville to this same Gator squad. But the Hoop Hounds have won five out of six conference contests in the friendly confines of Stegeman Coliseum this season. They've also found something of a spark on offense, with four 'Dawgs (Maten, Frazier, Gaines, and Mann) now averaging double digits in scoring.

A win over the Gators, ranked #31 in the RPI, would really help the Red and Black's still distant tournament hopes. Georgia has only one victory over an RPI top 50 squad (the recent upset of South Carolina), which would seem like an almost automatic disqualification on selection Sunday. A win over the Gators however would go a long way toward confirming that this is not the same up and down Bulldog team who struggled to start the year. Until later...

Go 'Dawgs!!!
