The Redcoats Need Your Help

NCAA Football: Georgia at Georgia Tech Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

We’re all familiar with the efforts culminating in the recently completed Indoor Practice Facility in Athens. But the football team isn’t the only University organization which stands to benefit from a facility upgrade.

The Redcoat Marching Band is in the midst of a campaign to raise money to build a permanent teaching tower at the Redcoat Practice Field. The advantages of such a structure are many, and they’re set out in detail here. The job is projected to cost $90,000, but the Redcoats are looking to raise $10,000 from alumni and friends to get things started. As of this writing I’m pleased to report that they’re only a step behind Bon Jovi. In other words, they’re almost halfway there.

I’d encourage you to give to help the Heartbeat of Bulldog Nation beat stronger than ever before. Whether you were a part of the finest band in the land (like several members of the Dawg Sports masthead) or just enjoy their contribution to game day Saturdays and other campus events (raises hand), this is a great way to help out. So give early and give often. And . . .

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
