The GHSA State football title games wrap up in the Georgia Dome this evening with clashes which both feature several Georgia Bulldog recruits, current and future.

The AAAA title game between Cartersville and Thomson kicks off at 4:30 PM. Cartersville of course is led by Junior quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the top target on Georgia’s recruiting board for the class of 2018. Lawrence is well on his way to obliterating every state high school passing record by the end of next season. If you have not had a chance to see him play I highly recommend catching this game on Georgia public broadcasting. Lawrence makes plays with his legs, with his arm, in the pocket, and on the run.

Thomson features, among other standouts, Christian Tutt, the nephew of former Georgia linebacker Danny Verdun-Wheeler. Tutt received an offer from the Bulldogs before his ninth grade season, and is still perhaps the youngest player offered by a Red and Black staff. If you are looking for a parallel in recent recruits, I would offer Mecole Hardman. Tutt is a phenomenal athlete who could play a variety of positions on the next level, but seems most natural as a physical cornerback.

The night’s action ends with a metro Atlanta matchup between the Roswell Hornets and Grayson Rams. Roswell features safety Xavier McKinney, the #8 player in the state according to 247Sports and a Bulldog target who appears set to head to Clemson. The Hornets also have senior offensI've lineman Jordan Tucker, a candidate for a UGA offer late in the process. Tucker was committed to Tennessee, but backed off that pledge and now appears to have Louisville as his leader.

Grayson features a hand-picked collection of top prospects too numerous to name. Of particular interest to Bulldog fans will be the performance of safety Deangelo Gibbs, the #4 ranked player in the state and among the biggest remaining targets on the UGA board for 2017, and sophomore linebacker Owen Pappoe, an early candidate for top player in the state for 2019. The Rams and Hornets will kick off around 8:00 pm.
