The Auburn Tigerd won't be the only visitors Kirby Smart and his staff welcome to Athens today.
A phalanx of blue chip football prospects for the classes of 2017, 2018, and even 2019 will be visiting the Classic City to see what UGA has to offer. Among the key uncommitted prospects in town will be both the top quarterback for the class of 2018 (Cartersville's Trevor Lawrence) and the top tailback (North Carolinian Zamir White). 2018 five star outside linebacker Justin Mascoll is also expected to be in town, along with perhaps the top two junior offensive line prospects in the state, Houston County’s Trey Hill and Cedar Grove’s Jamaree Salyer.
Also making the trip to Athens will be five star class of 2017 offensive tackle Walker Little. At 6’8, 310 pounds Little is pretty poorly named. He’s also perhaps the nation’s top uncommitted prospect at a huge position of need, and a highly sought after prospect. Stanford and the home state Texas Longhorns are the favorites for his commitment, but there’s no doubt Smart & Co. will be selling him on the chance to play early and often.
Other uncommitted 2017 prospects in attendance include Brookwood linebacker Leonard Warner, Grayson safety Deangelo Gibbs, Mary Persons defensive lineman Malik Herring, Grayson cornerback and South Carolina commit Jamyest Williams, and Crisp County linebacker Markaviest Bryant.
They’ll be joined by a host of current Bulldog commits including QB Jake Fromm receiver Trey Blount, OT D’Antne Demery, defensive backs Richard LeCounte and William Poole, and linebackers Walter Grant and Jaden Hunter.
In short, this is shaping up to be the biggest recruiting weekend of the Bulldog season. Let's hope that the Red and Black give them something to remember when they go home.
