Your Week 6 College Football TV Schedule

Brought to you by Old Lady Luck... who appears to have taken a permanent vacation where the Georgia Bulldogs are concerned.

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

We enter the middle of the season bruised and beaten, but still standing.  Things haven't always gone as we thought they would.  This tells me that  they probably won't go as we think they will from here on out.  This could be a very good thing or a very bad thing depending on what you're expecting.  That said, we charge fearlessly back into the fray as we bring you...

WEDNESDAY
Georgia Southern Eagles @ Arkansas State Red Wolves, 8 pm, ESPN2

1) Its a Wednesday night college football game.

2) It has regional appeal.

3) As an alum of both the University of Georgia and Georgia Southern University, I have a rooting interest.  Think of me as a modern-day Erk Russell... but without the unfortunate Auburn connection and the considerable football knowledge and talent... but with hair... and a substantial beard.  Come to think of it, I'm almost nothing like Erk Russell but you get the point. Go Eagles!

(Editor's Note: For anyone interested in following all of my alma maters, see the Saturday night slot below and click this link for streaming video coverage of my Berry College Vikings (4-1) as they take on the University of Chicago at noon on Saturday.  DIVISION III FOOTBALL, BABY!!!)

THURSDAY

Temple OwlsMemphis Tigers, 8 pm, ESPN

I guess?

FRIDAY

#3 Clemson Tigers @ Boston College Eagles, 7:30 pm, ESPN

Boston College is not a good football team.  Heck, they lost to Georgia Tech. Do they have any chance against a Clemson squad that just vanquished the mighty Louisville Cardinals? Not really, no. But unless you have a hot date, there are worse ways to spend a Friday night... like watching SMU and Tulsa.

SATURDAY NOON

LSU Tigers @ #18 Florida Gators, 12:00 pm, ESPN

There are some other interesting choices in this slot, but I'm a sucker for watching Ed Orgeron. Florida should probably win and I do think the LSU offense we saw last week was a fluke, but I'll be pulling for the Tigers all afternoon long.  I hate Florida.

SATURDAY MIDDAY

#8 Texas A&M Aggies @ #9 Tennessee Volunteers, 3:30 pm, CBS

It's all about the Aggies in this one and I have to believe Tennessee's outrageous good fortune is running out.  I'm not so delusional that I think Georgia still has a shot at the SEC East, but I do believe that in two weeks both the Dawgs and the Vols will be 5-2.

SATURDAY EVENING

Georgia Bulldogs @ South Carolina Gamecocks, 7:30 pm, SEC Network

I'm a homer, so this is where I'll be tuning in (barring a weather delay or postponement).  That said, you won't be blamed for choosing one of the big time match-ups below.

#1 Alabama Crimson Tide @ #16 Arkansas Razorbacks, 7:00 pm, ESPN

The first of many upcoming big time SEC West showdowns.  BERT! BERT! BERT! BERT!

#23 Florida State Seminoles @ #10 Miami Hurricanes, 8:00 pm, ABC

Let's play a game called "Watch Jimbo's Head Explode!"

SATURDAY LATE

Washington State Cougars @ #15 Stanford Cardinal, 10:30 pm, ESPN

The Cougars are coming off a beatdown of the Oregon Ducks and the Majestic Trees off the receiving end of an even more brutal beatdown at the hands of the Washington Huskies.  Time for the Dread Pirate Leach to take the next step.

That's all for this week folks. Until next time...

GOOOO DAWGS!!!
