Senior leadership critical to resurgent Bulldog butt-smacking effort.

NCAA Football: North Carolina vs Georgia Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Football. It requires leaders. And balls. And obviously goal posts, and probably helmets. But mostly leaders.

Kirby Smart has repeatedly talked this fall about the need for leaders to step forward on his team. Freshman quarterback Jacob Eason is reportedly getting more vocal. But he’s still a freshman. There’s only so much he can do. You need seniors to step up on the big stage. Seniors like Greyson Lambert.

You see that? That’s leadership. A freshman probably can’t get away with smacking the head football coach at an SEC school on the rear end hard enough to elicit a slight startle. That requires a guy who’s been there and done that. Who’s not afraid to shake things up a little. And who’s already graduated, so really what are they going to do to him?

That guy is Greyson Lambert. Did he hesitate a second before pulling the trigger here? Sure. And you expect quicker decision-making from your senior QB. But you can’t fault his intensity. And follow through. The fact is there’s no player on this team I trust more than Greyson Lambert to swoop in before a tense matchup and loosen up the first year head coach. DGD.* Until later . . .

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
