Grayson standout Deangelo Gibbs has been recruited mostly as a defensive back. The 247Sports top 50 player last week, however, did his part to dispel the myth that defensive backs are just receivers who can’t catch. Take a look at this highlight reel grab last week against Shiloh High:
With the recent decommitment of lanky Florida corner Latabiois Brini, Gibbs is now even more significant a target for Georgia (which now has only two defensive backs committed for 2017). While I think Gibbs may project better at safety in college, at a minimum his commitment would give Mel Tucker the flexibility to shuttle some players around on the back end. This catch is not going to make UGA fans, or coaches, want him less. Until later....
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
