Georgia Overview

Georgia kicked off the 2015 campaign with a solid performance against Louisiana-Monroe, routing the Warhawks 51-14 in a lightning shortened contest.

Nick Chubb did what Nick Chubb does, rushing for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns, while fellow backfield mates Sony Michel and Keith Marshall also found the endzone.  Quarterback Greyson Lambert had a positive UGA debut, going 8-12 for 141 yards and two touchdowns.

The Dawgs will look to exorcise some Nashville demons against the Vanderbilt Commodores in Week 2.

Movers

Fell Out: #15 Arizona State, #20 Wisconsin, #21 Stanford

Newcomers: #16 Texas A&M, #24 Utah, #25 Mississippi State

Overrated

The SEC. Now, don’t get me wrong, I firmly believe that the SEC is the best conference in all the land.  However, 10 of the 14 teams in the SEC are currently ranked, including the entire SEC West.  Realistically, not all of these teams are worthy of their current ranking, and we will see which ones will prove to be pretenders as the year goes on.

Underrated

#23 Tennessee.  As a UGA fan, I am quite frightened about the Dawgs’ trip to Knoxville on October 10th.  Tennessee always plays Georgia hard, and now they actually have a team that can compete for the SEC East crown.  Everyone will be boarding that ugly orange colored bandwagon after the Vols handle the Oklahoma Sooners in Neyland this weekend.

This Week’s Top 25 Matchups

#19 Oklahoma at #23 Tennessee

#7 Oregon at #5 Michigan State

#14 LSU at #25 Mississippi State

Upset Alert

In a cupcake-filled week, I’m going to go with the BYU Cougars downing the #20 Boise State Broncos at home in Provo.  If the Cougars can’t knock off the Broncos, then no one will… unless our old friend Mike Bobo and Colorado State have something to say about it October 10th.
