Your Week 1 College Football TV Schedule >>> Week 1 TV Schedule
College Football is BACK!!!!!
I could sit here and wax poetic about the majesty of Autumn. The scent of burning leaves and the giggles of children running around their parents at a tailgate on gameday. The blinding whiteness of Kirk Herbstreit's platinum locks and the sweet, sweet aroma of Maker's Mark and BBQ.
But I won't. Instead I'm going to just bask in the glory of the return of college football, post this week's TV schedule, and tell you what games I'll be choosing to watch this weekend and, in turn, suggest those which I think you'll most enjoy. Returning fans will notice that, as always, we do not acknowledge the existence of the Big 10 or Pac 12 Networks in this space and continue to mock the state of Notre Dame football. All other nationally televised games should be included...
While some of you might be tempted to check out the Alcorn St. Braves and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, this promises to be a watchable game at the very least. I've seen 2015 predictions for the Gamecocks prognosticating everything from a 9-3 season to a 5-7 season. What we see in this game will likely go a long way toward indicating which extreme we should expect to see.
While I don't foresee the Spartans having any problem pulling away in this one, Western Michigan is supposedly much improved so it will be interesting to see what kind of fight they put up.
Art Briles! That is all.
Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks @ #9 Georgia Bulldogs, 12:00 pm, SEC Network
You didn't honestly think I was gonna pick any other game in this slot, did you? Come for the Chubb, stay for the hand-wringing about the QB performance.
Auburn vs. Louisville. Malzahn vs. Petrino. Muschamp vs. Grantham. They're gonna tear the Georgia Dome down anyway. Might as well do so with all these folks inside.
This is the marquee game of the weekend... but honestly I don't think it'll be much of a game. That said, there are worse ways to spend a Saturday evening. I refuse to say Roll Tide but the Tide will roll nonetheless.
I've gone on record calling for the upset here... and frankly this a good game to flip to when Alabama starts pulling away. The nice thing about watching a game in Morgantown is, win or lose... they're gonna be setting some furniture on fire in the street.
Why not? Its still early in the season and you're still fired up enough to make some bad decisions.
MONDAY (Labor Day)
This probably won't end up being much of a matchup but after listening to the talking heads discuss how dominant Ohio State will be in 2015 all summer long, listening to the talking heads discuss how dominant Ohio State will be in 2015 should be a nice change of pace.
So yeah, football is back. And its gonna be awesome.
That's all for this week folks. Until next time...
