In another sure sign of the approach of college football season, USAToday released its preseason coaches poll this morning. Ohio State is a pretty unsurprising #1 as the Buckeyes return a lot from a national title team. 2014 runner-up TCU continues its status as a trendy pick this summer by earning the #2 spot. Alabama, despite breaking in a new QB and replacing some other significant losses, gets the now-customary Nick Saban benefit of the doubt, sliding in at #3.

The Georgia Bulldogs landed at the #9 spot, which seems like a testament to voters' esteem for the Bulldog run game led by Nick Chubb and a veteran offensive line, as well as a recognition that the Bulldog defense may take a step forward in year two under Jeremy Pruitt. Georgia is among five SEC schools in the top fifteen and eight in the top twenty five, the most of any conference. You can find the full poll results here. Until later...
