In another sure sign of the approach of college football season, USAToday released its preseason coaches poll this morning. Ohio State is a pretty unsurprising #1 as the Buckeyes return a lot from a national title team. 2014 runner-up TCU continues its status as a trendy pick this summer by earning the #2 spot. Alabama, despite breaking in a new QB and replacing some other significant losses, gets the now-customary Nick Saban benefit of the doubt, sliding in at #3.
The Georgia Bulldogs landed at the #9 spot, which seems like a testament to voters' esteem for the Bulldog run game led by Nick Chubb and a veteran offensive line, as well as a recognition that the Bulldog defense may take a step forward in year two under Jeremy Pruitt.
