Dawg Night is about getting as many of the top prospects as possible to Athens and cementing relationships with them that will ultimately pay off with commitments. But recent history has shown that the electric atmosphere in Sanford Stadium on this particular summer night tends to lead to commitments right on the spot.
The first such commitment for the 2015 event came from 2017 Brunswick standout DeeJay Dallas, who chose Georgia this evening over offers from Auburn, Florida, South Carolina, and Missouri. The 6'0, 180 pounder could play safety, corner, or receiver at the next level. He's also an outstanding kick returner who'll likely get a look there once he arrives in Athens. It will also be interesting to see how Dallas develops over the next couple of years before reporting to college.
We'll be back with more coverage tonight, but for now it's safe to say that Coach Richt and company are off to a hot start. Until later . . .
Go 'Dawgs!!!
