'Dawg Nights Preview: Is It Possible To Have Too Much Talent On One Field?

This weekend is Georgia's biggest prospect camp of the summer, 'Dawg Night. For the uninitiated, Georgia also has a Mark Richt football Camp every summer. Good football players come out to that one to get coaching from the Georgia staff. But this is the one where many of the nation's most elite players come out to complete against each other. 'Dawg Night usually features about as much football talent as you'll find collected anywhere other than Nike's The Opening. This year however takes it to ridiculous extremes.

247Sports has 27 players from across the nation rated 5 stars for the class of 2016. 8 (nearly 30%) of them will be in Athens this weekend. 12 of the top 40 players in the 247Sports rankings will be in the Classic City. It's actually a little hard to imagine the Bulldog coaches having enough time to spend one-on-one with each of the big time prospects they'll spend their time coaching and/or wooing. Below is a list of players expected in Athens based upon media reports and social media posts. While the list is very impressive, it's worth remembering that there are usually at least a couple of big names who make surprise visits for the event.
