Day one of the 115th U. S. Open is in the books. And while it's always great to be a Georgia Bulldog, it was not a great day on the course for most every Georgia golfer in Thursday's field.
"Former" former 'Dawg Patrick Reed sits alone in third at -4 but after that Brian Harman is currently the top 'Dawg at -1 (tied for 14th). Bubba Watson and Chris Kirk are tied for 26th at even par, while Russ Henley and Kevin Kisner sit 6 shots back at +1, tied for 42nd. Current UGA golfer Lee McCoy (+4), Erik Compton (+6), and Brendon Todd (+8) all appear to be out of contention née they even got started. But they are all ahead of Tiger and Rickie Fowler, and you can't take that away from them.
TV coverage continues today on Fox, and you can follow along live on USOpen.com.
