There are varying philosophies on spring games. Some see them as a critical barometer of team progress heading into summer workouts, others as a glorified workout in which the coaches show little of what they'll be doing in the fall. I for the record fall squarely in the latter camp, and have remarked more than once that if the G Day Game meant anything then Torin Kirtsey would be in the Circle of Honor.
That doesn't mean I don't get excited about it. It helps when the guys from the UGA video department chip in with one of their always excellent hype videos:
I've said this before, but it bears repeating. There may be other video teams as good as the one in Athens. But I can't name them, and I'm willing to bet there's nobody better. And while I could quibble a little with the vaguely Revelations blurb from Coach Richt about its ultimate significance, I'm still excited. Remember that you can catch the G Day Game live from Athens on Saturday on SEC Netowrk as part of their "whip around" coverage of various games, and also on the digital "SEC Network Plus" platform available on tablets, mobile devices, and computers. Dave Neal will be joined by former Bulldogs Matt Stinchcomb and Maria Taylor on that outlet. Until later . . .
Go 'Dawgs!!!
