Saturday's Elite Eight Preview And Open Thread

Malcolm Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Cinderella has left the building, as tonight's Elite Eight slate features highly seeded teams full of top shelf talent. At 6:09 p.m. on TBS #1 seed from the West Wisconsin will take on #2 seed Arizona from the Staples Center in L.A. Size is the order of the day as 7'0 Badger Frank Kaminsky leads the Big Ten champs against an Arizona roster featuring three players 6'10 or taller. Arizona may be the only team left in the tournament with the bigs to match up with Kentucky. That's one reason I expect the Wildcats to prevail in this one.

Then at 8:49 on TBS the Midwest finale pits #1 seed Duke and #3 seed Notre Dame. The Irish pulled off a 74-64 victory in the ACC tournament a couple of weeks ago, and frankly I think it will be tough for Notre Dame to knock off Coach K's squad twice in a row. The guy knows how to game plan, and if the Dookies execute I think they've got this one.

Tonight's group question: who was the best SEC basketball player of the past twenty years? Until later . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!
