Mark Fox and his squad came into the 2014-2015 season with a lot to prove. Coming off an unexpected 20 win season, hopes were high for the Hoop Hounds, and a NCAA Tournament bid seemed to be the consensus expectation among Georgia fans.
After playing some great basketball early in the season, some bad basketball in the middle, and suffering with perhaps more injuries than any other team in the country, Georgia now appears to be safely in the Big Dance. CBSSports has the Dawgs pegged as an 11 seed. ESPN's Joe Lunardi has the Red and Black as a 10 seed traveling to Seattle to play #7 seed Oregon. As a Georgia basketball fan I know better than to get too confident, but it seems that if Georgia's getting left out a lot of people are going to be royally surprised.
In the end all the experts will probably be wrong, but that's what makes Selection Sunday so fun. So grab the beverage and snacks of your choice (I have ribs on the smoker right now and cold Abita Turbodog in the fridge, but your mileage may vary) and settle in for all the fun.
