SEC basketball fever strikes again, with a full afternoon/evening of basketball. Today's slate:
Game 3: No. 8 Florida vs. No. 9 Alabama, 1 p.m., SEC Network
Game 4: No. 5 Texas A&M vs. No. 13 Auburn, 3 p.m., SEC Network
Game 5: No. 7 Vanderbilt vs. No. 10 Tennessee, 7 p.m., SEC Network
Game 6: No. 6 Ole Miss vs. No. 11 South Carolina, 9 p.m., SEC Network
Auburn and South Carolina survived night one, and Georgia will face the winner of the Gamecocks' showdown with the Rebels at 9:00 p.m. tomorrow night on the SEC Network. To the extent that it matters, I'd prefer Ole Miss for the simple reason that a loss to Ole Miss would not be great, but wouldn't be a killer. A win would go a long way to helping the Bulldogs stay away from a 10 or 11 seed in the Big Dance. A win over the Gamecocks really wouldn't move the needle. A third loss to the Carolinians however would be the kind of stain the committee just couldn't ignore. You lose three times in the back half of the season to a team clingin to the RPI top 100 and you got some 'splaining to do, Lucy. Enjoy the bouncy hoops, and....
Go 'Dawgs!!!
