The SEC is playing that sport we play when there's no football to be played up in Nashville. With as many as six league teams with a shot at the Big Dance, the stakes are little higher than in past seasons. There's also Kentucky looking to stay undefeated, and Georgia looking to move up and secure a seed in the top half of the tournament bracket.
But before all that we get tonight's slate of games which is, well, it's not that compelling. 13 seed Auburn is taking on #12 Mississippi State as we speak, which will be followed by Missouri and South Carolina in the 11/14 matchup. Georgia lost to two of these teams in the last month, one of them repeatedly. I don't understand that, but maybe it's not mine to understand. SEC basketball is inscrutable that way sometimes.
We'll be here on through the weekend as teams jockey for the title. But until then feel free to use this as tournament headquarters. Until later . . .
