Mark Fox's Bulldogs avoided a hangover from their win over Clemson and kept on the winning side of the ledger by downing Robert Morris by twelve at the Stege. Yante Maten once again led the Hoop Hounds in scoring with 20 points and pulled down 7 rebounds to boot. Maten has steadily come to be a consistent force in the post, one element that I personally feared the Bulldogs might be missing this year. For the game Georgia led Robert Morris 46-24 in points in the paint. J.J. Frazier chipped in 17 from his guard spot, though he and Maten both had some lapses on the defensive end. Robert Morris was able to cut the 11 point Georgia halftime lead to 5 in the second half, but the 'Dawgs tightened back down on defense and pulled away.
Robert Morris drops to 2-11 on the season, and certainly isn't going to be confused for a Sweet Sixteen contender. That being said, Georgia did notch its fourth win in a row to go to 7-3 on the season after an inconsistent start to the season. The 'Dawgs will now begin conference play January 2 against Florida.
