When you absolutely positively need your biggest recruit to have a good time. . .

When you need your top football recruit to feel comfortable in Athens, there's really only one man for the job.

Jacob Eason will join a phalanx of other top recruits, including his good friend offensive tackle Ben Cleveland, in Athens for a visit this weekend. Recruits will not attend the annual senior gala as in years past, instead going to a separate event with new coach Kirby Smart. I haven't seen an agenda or anything, but I suspect the point of this weekend will be to acquaint recruits with Smart and as much of his staff as is in place by then, and to preview for them the direction of the program.

Coach Smart has been busy recruiting and hasn't put a time table on rounding out his staff. While it would be nice for us to have someone on campus this weekend who could watch a little film with Eason and reassure him about the offense he could be running in Athens, I don't know that it's 100% necessary. Remember that Jacob Eason has spent a lot of time around the other 2016 commits and in Athens. He's still committed to Georgia, and with good reason. Eason is Kirby Smart's recruit to lose at this point. Bulldog fans have to be hoping that Smart reminds the young Washingtonian this weekend about all the things he's come to like about the University of Georgia that don't include Mark Richt or Brian Schottenheimer. Cross your fingers, and . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!
