'Dawgs Look To Spread The Load Versus High Point

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Mark Fox's Georgia basketball team takes on High Point this afternoon at 5:00 p.m at Stegeman Coliseum in the final game of a three game season opening home stand. High Point is the third of these teams to be coming off a 20+ win season as well. The Bulldogs won their lone prior engagement with the Panthers, an 85-38 thumping back in 2010. But High Point enter today's action 3-1 on the year, and led by the nondescriptly-named John Brown, a three-time all conference selection who leads the Panthers in scoring, rebounding, blocks, and steals.

Georgia of course is led by Kenny Gaines, who's averaging 23.5 points per game following his 35 point effort against Murray State (small sample size is small). This would be a great game for the Hoop Hounds to spread the ball around a little, perhaps to Yante Maten, who's actually averaging a double/double (12.0 ppg, 11.5 rpg).

You can watch on ESPNU, or listen live across the Bulldog Radio Network.
