It's closing in on time for kickoff along the banks of the St. Johns River. A few random thoughts before we get started.

  • As on now no one really knows whether Faton Bauta will get the start for Georgia. But honestly, given what we've seen from the other signal callers since the Southern game wouldn't it kind of make you wonder if we didn't see him at this point? Any sort of boost for this offense would be most helpful.
  • Also helpful? Not turning the ball over. Florida leads the SEC in turnover margin (+9), and Georgia could easily lose this one by giving the Gators short fields or taking points off the board by giving the ball away. If Georgia doesn't win the turnover battle I fail to see how they can win this one.
  • I also expect special teams to play a huge role in this one. Whether it was Marshall Morgan's momentum-busting field goal miss or Florida's fake field goal last season, this kind of close rivalry game often turns on special teams plays. Georgia's kick returners have been pretty explosive at times this season. Now would be a great time to run one back to help that struggling offense.
  • I really hope Dark Richt is in the building for this one. If we're going to go down let's go down swinging. If not, then let's make it clear that we haven't given up on this season. Until later . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!
