Georgia Overview

Georgia won a thriller against the Missouri Tigers 9-6 at Sanford Stadium.  The game featured five field goals and zero touchdowns.  Exhilarating.  But, major props to the defense for keeping Mizzou out of the endzone and rebounding from two straight poor performances.

The Dawgs now have a bye week to prepare for the Cocktail Party in two weeks.

Movers

Fell Out: #18 UCLA, #20 Boise State, #21 Northwestern

Newcomers: #21 Houston, #22 Temple, #25 Pitt

Overrated

#12 Iowa.  Yes, the Hawkeyes are undefeated.  Yes, their schedule tees them up to possibly finish the regular season undefeated.  However, Iowa isn’t the twelfth best team in the nation.  We may not get proof of this until the Big Ten Championship game, though.

Underrated

#21 Houston.  The Cougars are also undefeated and co-favorites to win the American Athletic Conference.  They have a Heisman darkhorse in quarterback Greg Ward, and if they can get past fellow undefeated Memphis, the Cougars are looking at a big and busy New Years.

This Week’s Top 25 Matchups

#15 Texas A&M at #24 Ole Miss

Upset Alert

Last week… well let’s not talk about last week.  Thanks Kansas State.

This week, I could technically go Utah over USC, since the Trojans have opened as the favorite.  However, I will go with Virginia Tech at home against Duke.
