Tuesday Morning 'Dawg Bites Loves A Fresh Start.

USA TODAY Sports

Saturday just keeps getting closer every day. Before you get down to the business that really needs doing this Tuesday morning, here's what's happening in Bulldog Nation.

Several Bulldogs taking advantage of new life with new defensive staff | University of Georgia | Macon.com
Sure, some of this is the same "fresh start" stuff that you hear every time there's a coaching change anywhere. But you can't help but get the sense that there was some real dissatisfaction with Coach Grantham and his defensive staff toward the end of his time in Athens.

Watch: CB Devin Bowman Reveals Details of Why Grantham Wasn't Working - Bulldawg Illustrated
Devin Bowman met the UGA media, and provided some answers as to why things weren't working in 2013. I've liked Devin Bowman ever since he was recruited to Athens, and have wondered at what point his athletic gifts would come to fruition. It looks like this may be the year, and it couldn't come at a better time.

Former walk-on Taylor Maxey blocking the way for Georgia backfield - The Red and Black : Sports
A senior fullback from Statham, Maxey went from little known walk-on linebacker to starting fullback in four years at Georgia, a process that took a lot of circumstantial help. But as they say in golf, there are no pictures on the scorecard. And after watching him land solid block after solid block against Clemson I couldn't be happier that Maxey is where he is now.

Richt: 'Tough' for Gurley to pass on NFL after junior year | Online Athens
We've all been thinking it, Coach Richt is just the one saying it. Actually, most of us have also been saying it since Gurley was a freshman. Given the short lifespan of an NFL tailback's career it would be foolish for Todd Gurley to return for his senior year in Athens, as much fun as it would be for us fans if he did.

As usual, there will be more Bulldog news and analysis coming up later today on Dawg Sports, including your forthcoming SEC game of interest. Until later…

Go 'Dawgs!!!
