South Carolina/East Carolina Open Comment Thread.

Sure we have a general comment thread open for the other big match ups going on this evening in college football. But given the porous nature of the South Carolina secondary and the potency on Ruffin McNeill's East Carolina offense, the potential for concentrated schadenfreude here was just too much to resist.

After earlier reporting that Mike Davis was "sort of doubtful" for this one, Steve Spurrier seems to have retrenched and admitted there's a chance he'll be available. Which is good, because I suspect the Gamecock offense will need to burn some clock so Ole Stevie can coach 'em up in that secondary that have up a lot of points last Thursday. Feel free to include your predictions in the comments leading up to kickoff. Thereafter it's time to scout next week's opponent and hopefully watch the Gamecocks lurch their way through a quadruple overtime slugfest that leaves them too exhausted to put up any meaningful fight next Saturday in Columbia.
