Tuesday Morning 'Dawg Bites: Raise Your Hand If You Can Play Corner.

Kevin C. Cox

Famine, injury, disciplinary action, and pestilence. It's another sunny Tuesday in Bulldog Nation. There's news this morning, and some of it isn't 100% bad. So yeah, ACCPD for realizing Todd Gurley didn't punch a drunk kid at Bourbon Street!

Todd Gurley falsely accused of assault last weekend in Athens bar - The Red and Black : Sports
As podunkdawg already informed you, Todd Gurley was falsely accused of assault over the weekend according to Mark Richt. To be fair, I get mistaken for Gurley a lot. We both weigh 225, we just carry it a little differently. He has a sweet six pack, and I carry a six pack of Sweetwater around Athens from time to time.

Sheldon Dawson leaves Georgia football team | Georgia Bulldogs blog | Columbus Ledger Enquirer
As podunkdawg also told you last night, Sheldon Dawson was one of Georgia's top recruits two years ago, but his career has ended after failing to make an impact. Dawson had been in trouble off and on for a while now, including being suspended for last season's Gator Bowl and reportedly earlier this season. He had also been passed in the rotation by some younger players. I'm not exactly overwhelmed with grief over this one.

Trent Thompson: UGA’s top recruit names 5 schools for official visits | College recruiting blog
Trent Thompson, the nation’s No. 2 overall prospect, has kept a somewhat low-profile for an elite recruit since committing to UGA last month. The 5-star defensive tackle from Albany’s Westover High tells the AJC he'll be taking official visits before Signing Day, but is still about as close to a mortal lock as there is to sign with Georgia in February.

Damian Swann suffers broken thumb against Tennessee |
Damian Swann suffered a broken thumb during Saturday's win over Tennessee, but says it "shouldn't be an issue" as he'll be wearing a cast going forward. Having tried to tackle people and catch a football with a broken thumb myself (and most assuredly not on an SEC level) I'm not fully buying this.

Notes: A UGA quarterback rotation 'possible,' says Mark Richt
Well, technically, anyway. To put it in CMR-ese: "I think anything is possible. I'm not going to sit here and start trying to tell the whole world what we're going to do before we even talk to our players about how we're going to rotate things like that. But that's been done before. There's always a possibility of something like that."

Kickoff time still uncertain for Georgia's game at Missouri | Online Athens
CBS will be using its 6 day option to wait until Sunday to select its choice for the marquee game of an October 11th doubleheader. This is germane to your interests for two reasons. One, you want to know when the Bulldogs are playing. Two, you want to know when to show up at the Blind Pig Tavern in Athens for the Dawg Sports Sacrificial Goat Roast, occurring the same day and benefiting the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.

That should get you started for the day. Now go forth, don't hand the drunk guy his hat back unless you get it on video, mind your thum rotate in and out of the comment section as necessary. And . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!
