Every week I set out to prepare the TV Schedule thinking, "This is the week that we finally get a ton of awesome games!" Every week I am disappointed.
And then this week...
Was exactly the same. The choices aren't great folks. I honestly can't remember a season where we were this far in and still hadn't had a Saturday packed from noon to midnight with amazing contests. Oh well, maybe next week.
Until then, here are the games you should watch this time around:
It should be interesting to see two teams that ruled
Division I-AA FCS for so long face off now that they've both moved up to primetime. If nothing else we'll always have Michigan 2007 and Florida 2013. Man, that makes me smile.
Probably this weekend's best match-up and, of course, its on a Thursday night at 10 pm. Get ready to drag tail around the office Friday morning.
Why this game you ask? Because I have to pick one. And the only other option included the Fresno State Bulldogs. And I hate Steve Detwiler.
You should approach this game with fear and trepidation. Tennessee isn't nearly as good as Georgia but since when has that ever stopped a team from beating the Bulldogs (see also South Carolina 9/13/14)?. For that matter, when has Georgia not been willing to serve up a signature win to a struggling program? And if that's not enough to scare the bejeezus out of you, this is what is about to roll into Athens:
Arkansas Razorbacks vs #6 Texas A & M Aggies (3:30 CBS)
Come for Texas A&M's high powered offense. Stay for Bret Bielema's head exploding like something straight out of Videodrome.
The Tigers are embarrassed after losing to the Indiana Hoosiers... in football! The Gamecocks struggled mightily with the Vanderbilt Commodores. I'm guessing after Saturday night South Carolina won't be in control of their own destiny in the SEC East anymore.
Wouldn't it be great if the Beavers beat the Trojans setting off a wild chain of events in which at season's end USC is in a bidding war against the Florida Gators, trying to bring Lane Kiffin back to the West Coast? I mean just think about it. After a long battle, USC finally beats the Gators out for Tickle-Me-Kiffin and then Florida goes full on desperate dumpster fire mode and rehires Ron Zook. Dreams are nice...
And that's all for this week folks. Until next time...
