Mark Richt Victory Watch Episode 128

It's Always Great To Be A Georgia Bulldog!

In a not completely unexpected victory that probably helped to soothe old wounds, the University of Georgia routed Troy 66-0, in the largest margin of victory for the Classic City Canines since 1958. Word is Vegas only expected a 40.5 point lead when time ran out.  It is therefore both my honor and my privilege to bring to you once again, the Mark Richt Victory Watch.

Mark Richt has now secured his 128th career win, in only 174 total games as the head man in charge between the hedges. Coach Richt currently boasts a 128-46 record and a .735 winning percentage*.  At the identical juncture in their careers, Coach Wally Butts was 110-55-8 (.636) following something less than a successful outing against that team that must die in 1954 and Vince Dooley was 115-52-6 (.665) following a 24-0 shutout of South Carolina in 1979**.

As we have mentioned before, Mark Richt remains statistically head and shoulders above his historical coevals at the same point in their respective careers. At the conclusion of their tenures, Coach Wally Butts had only a .596 record and Coach Vince Dooley had only a .665 record.

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, rest up for next weekend’s outing. Until later . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!

*The Atlanta Braves would like to sign up for winning percentage lessons as soon as CMR can make room in his schedule.

**It’s possible that SCar fans are still sore in their backsides from that game.
