One of the few real positives of a noon kickoff is the chance to watch the Red and Black convincingly take care of business then sit back and enjoy another solid seven or eight hours of college football action.
Mississippi State travels to LSU at 7:00 in what seems to be a trendy upset pick (ESPN). I personally believe it's the game during which Dak Prescott is exposed for the mediocre QB he was against decent competition in 2013. Also at 7:00 Arkansas plays host to Northern Illinois and South Carolina travels to Vandy in what I would like to believe is a letdown game for the Gamecocks (SEC Network).
However, having watched three Vandy games this season, I don't know that Spurrier's team can let far enough down to have any real trouble in this one. This Vandy team is perhaps the worst SEC football team I've seen in recent years. If you haven't yet watched them, don't. It's not healthy. Oklahoma travels to West Virginia for a game that is still weirdly, a conference matchup (FOX).
At 8:00 Miami takes on Nebraska in a game that was a lot more meaningful twenty years ago (ESPN2). And of course Florida State takes on Clemson without their crab-thieving, cafeteria-cussing starting quarterback on ABC. Still, I expect Clemson's gonna Clemson, but it would sure be nice if they pulled this one out to make our opening victory look a little shinier.
So have fun, be good to each other, and let's watch some football. Until later . . .
Go 'Dawgs!!!
