The Friday Tailgate: The Calm Before The Storm.

Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

Maestro, pass me one of those barbecue sandwiches and cue the music:

There's still some time to kill before the Georgia Bulldogs kick it off against the Clemson Tigers tomorrow afternoon in Sanford Stadium. One way to pass that time is by watching other college football, football that doesn't involve Vanderbilt taking part in a regressionary culture change that embarrasses all of us.

Sadly tonight's slate of games isn't that appealing. There is a doubleheader on ESPN of BYU vs. UConn followed by UNLV at Arizona. The folks from GPB are showing a pretty good high school game as well, as upstart Archer travels to perennial contender Peachtree Ridge. You certainly don't have to watch football. The Marlins are traveling to Atlanta to play the Braves. And if you happen to have The Big Lebowski on DVD that's a solid choice as well.

The bottom line is that you're free to hang out under our virtual tailgate tent for the evening. Especially if you brought beer. So talk amongst yourselves, play nice and . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!
