It looks like Georgia has scored a rare double this afternoon, with news that talented Jacksonville (Trinity) defensive back Deontai Williams has flipped his commitment from the Florida Gators to the Georgia Bulldogs. Williams committed to the Gators back in January, but Georgia has been among a herds of schools which have not given up on him. It looks like camping in Athens this weekend was enough to convince him to jump from the H.M.S. Muschamp.
Williams is a big time prospect by any measure, rated among the top 30 to 40 cornerbacks in the country (though I could easily see the hard hitter moving back to safety). In addition to the 'Dawgs and Gators, he had offers from the likes of LSU, Notre Dame, Louisville, Mississippi State, and Auburn. He's a very, very physical player who's not afraid to lay the lumber and shows good ball skills to boot. Take a look at his junior highlights below:
Welcome to the right side of the rivalry, Deontai! And . . .
Go 'Dawgs!!!
